Are you happy in your career, relationship, financial security and optimal health? If not, do you tend to worry and think “what if’ I’d done this or that” or “I should have…”? If you are a worrier or find yourself constantly making excuses for circumstances you’re creating dis-ease in your body, mind and soul. Like Dale Carnegie says: “Stop Worrying and Start Living”. I know when I worry about things instead of addressing the problem I feel stressed, tired and overwhelmed. Time is wasted making excuses and blaming! If you want to be productive, feel happy doing what you enjoy and reaping the benefits from your work while feeling awesome you need to release worry and set it free.
Worrying is an excuse not to take inspired action. It’s time to stop worrying and start living fully in the present moment with specificity, purpose and passion. Focus on what does work, what feels good and you’ll discover it shows up more. That is the LAW of attraction! When you’re happy and laughing you are present, and that’s what really matters!
As a life coach supporting women specifically to discover more happiness I find those who are consistently worrying about how they look, what others’ think about them, what they think they should or shouldn’t do or say, why they think they need to do what others expect them to do, aren’t having fun. They’re taking the World’s problems on their shoulders and the weight is heavy. In the process they become stressed, unhappy and feel their needs aren’t important. This is the farthest thing from the truth. We are ALL important and we are born to live happy, healthy and doing what we love.
Could have or should have thoughts hold you back from experiencing what ‘is’ right now, this second. Too often we believe we need to ‘fix’ everything instead of accept, appreciate and allow it to just ‘be’ whatever it is. If we think we need to ‘fix’ things we must believe its’ broken. When we try to fix other people’s problems we not only are judging them we dis-empower them from being able to learn and make their own choice on what they want to do.
If you are a worrier ask yourself:
- What good is my worrying?
- What am I trying to fix?
- Is it my problem to fix?
- If it is your problem take action and resolve the problem so there’s no longer anything to worry about.
- Any time you feel the need to change or fix things, stop and ask yourself on a scale of 1-10 how important is this for me to fix?
If you decide it’s really important do you need to change it right now or could you schedule it for later? Sometimes when you set things aside and come back to it later you have a clearer perspective. Learn to let go, set things aside and focus on the task at hand to release feeling overwhelmed. Delegating chores and/or handing back responsibility to others’ allows you time to accomplish what you need to. It also sends the message that you don’t need to ‘fix’ all problems. It lets other people learn to accomplish their own tasks and learn responsibility. Mom’s tend to think they need to be the one to fix everything. Empowering others to take inspired action helps them resolve their own problems while being productive. It teaches them to choose their own consequences for their own actions. It also builds their confidence to know they are capable of resolving their own problems.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stressed or tired, set aside some time to determine why. Ask yourself what can you get help with or let go of. If you want to feel happy often, consider how you want to be treated and treat yourself better. Don’t blame, criticize or complain because ultimately it’s your problem. Discover better solutions that allow you time for yourself.
What really matters? You do!! You matter, so choose empowering action that inspires you to live your dreams.
